In general, hospitals deploy deploy AHU (Air Handling Unit) & FCU (Fan Coil Unit) for HVAC purposes. Also, the general control of coolant flow is done through Actuator Valve, and motor speed control is done through VFD(Variable Frequency Drive).

HVACs are one of the highest current appetite appliances in hospitals.SNAS system offers switching operations of any kind of HVAC , as well it offers remote operations to both Actuator valve and VFD . The remote operations can be done by 14 different channels(e.g., Mobile App, Desktop Controller, Remote, Voice control through Alexa etc.).

SNAS system offers to control all the 3 below flavours of HVAC :

  • Room AC(Window or Split) : Operates(Switch ON / Switch OFF) all kinds of Room ACs. Also controls the temperature through IR Blaster. Integration of the Temperature sensor can provide hands free control.

  • AHU : As per our studies, most of the AHUs even though being non-critical are run continuously. Algorithms can be applied (e.g. Schedulers) to give them a short break(say 15 mins in 2 hours) owing to large savings(e.g. 2.5 hours a day in this case) which was not possible before. Also, Actuator Valve Controller provides coolant flow control owing to a second level of control over cooling.

  • FCU : Usually FCUs are installed in closed rooms which are running when unoccupied. SNAS systems integrated with Motion sensors can provide savings of up to 40-50% in some cases.

Doctor’s Room Automation (OPD Use Case)

  • Doctor’s cabin is one of the most important rooms in any hospital.Generally the doctor visits these rooms for an average of 2-4 hours.

  • Our study with one of our client has found that in most of the cases, the room’s ACs and lights are left ON for a full day by the operators. Simple implementation of wireless SNAS Motion Sensor operated AC and lights in some cases can save upto 45-50% of electricity. It can reduce error-prone manual operations to a great extent. Additionally, it provides hands free operations without any assistance. Motion sensor also has an inbuilt button which if pressed, can override the switching operations done by the sensor.

  Motion Sensor Module (MSM) is a Plug-and-Play device designed to give you hands free control of your appliances.

  Motion Sensor Module is a powerful device which understands your presence and based upon that you can configure and control your appliances.

  It can create moments for you like switching ON a set of selected appliance of the room where you are present in. At the same time, it can OFF appliances of other room(s) or vice versa. Selection of the rooms or appliances are fully in your control.

  Also, it doesn't need any Internet or Wifi presence to work.

  User may select two list of devices. One list to be switched ON and other to be switched OFF when motion is detected/not detected.

  Also alternatively, the appliances can be operated in case no-motion is detected.

  LDR Sensor Controller from SNAS Automation gives Contactless Automation based upon the light intensity. SNAS LDR Controller controls the light as per the natural sunlight intensity in the environment. For example in the summer season, sunlight is available for more duration as compared to winter. So, using LDR can drastically reduce the power consumption in such cases.

  Our experience shows that including LDR Sensors in the automation suite can provide the additional 15% savings. Additionally, the LDR controller can be disabled(if needed) by the use of Sensor operating rules as per any schedule.

  LDR Controller can be disabled if needed through Operating Rules(explained later). This helps to give additional control over the lights.
